What is Spoolery?
Spoolery is a simple iPhone app for 3D printing makers. It keeps filament colors, printed projects, usage, and approximate costs connected without turning the hobby into inventory work.
Does Spoolery work with any 3D printer or filament brand?
Yes. Spoolery is a standalone record, so it does not need to connect to a specific printer, slicer, or filament brand.
Is Spoolery only for 3D printing filament?
No. Spoolery was designed around 3D printing filament, but you can also use it to organize other colorful making materials—such as yarn, embroidery thread, polymer clay, and resin—and the objects you create with them. It works best for materials that can be tracked by weight; some labels still use filament terminology.
Do I need to enter printer or slicer settings?
No. You only add basic spool details and the amount used for each print. Layer height, speed, temperature, and other technical settings are not required.
How do I record a 3D printed project?
Choose the filament, add a photo and project name, then enter the grams used. The project stays connected to that spool and color.
Can I see everything printed from one spool?
Yes. Each spool keeps its related projects together, so you can look back at what a color became and how much filament each project used.
How does Spoolery estimate remaining filament?
Spoolery subtracts the usage you record from the spool's net weight. The result is a practical estimate, not a replacement for weighing the spool.
How is a print's material cost calculated?
The initial estimate uses spool price divided by net weight, multiplied by the grams recorded for the project. When a spool is finished, Spoolery can account for unrecorded material in the final cost.
What happens when a filament spool is finished?
You can mark it finished, review all the projects it produced, and create a share card that brings the spool, color, and finished pieces together.
